Christmas and New Year's Eve focussed on RheinEnergieMarathon Cologne
Record demand exceeds 5,000 registrations

Approximately two weeks after the start of the registration for the RheinEnergieMarathon Cologne presented by Sparkasse CologneBonn and its competitions on October 14, 2012 we have already received more than 5,000 registrations. This is the highest demand during the first registration period since the premiere event in 1997.
The total of 5,010 registrations is made up of 1,766 marathoners, 2,546 half marathoners, 445 inline skaters, 152 relay team runners as well as ultra marathoners, school marathoners, hand cyclists, mini marathoners and youngsters of the juniors' trophy.
Compared with the previous year (deadline for cheapest rate on January 31, four weeks after the start of the registration) the demand increased for every competition: 4.74% more participants registered for the marathon. The half marathon demand has increased by 52.45% and there is a big plus of 47.35% for the skate marathon. Also the relay team marathon is getting more and more attractive and the demand is 46.15% above the 2011 numbers.
